2008 Residential Field Camp
Application Deadline is APRIL 15, 2008!
Spend a week engaging in hands-on learning about the biology, ecology, and management of white-tailed deer with the State's top biologists, managers, educators, and media professionals!
Activities include:
- Deer necropsy to learn about anatomy and physiology
- Using radio telemetry in the field
- Using GPS in the field
- Nighttime deer spotlighting survey
- Habitat evaluations
- Deer trivia
- Making a collection of plants important to deer
- Nature photography and journaling
- Ageing deer on the hoof and using jaw bones
- Role of hunting in deer management. Firearm safety and target practice
When: July 8-12, 2008 (Tuesday - Saturday)
Cost: $350.00
Scholarships are available to help cover tuition costs!
Where: At the beautiful Raystown Field Station, Juniata College, Raystown, PA

- Nature photography and journaling
- Bird dog training
- Shotgun safety and clay shoot
